Sorry I missed last Sunday! I have a standing first Sunday of the month golf group I play with. This weekend I'll be out town so I'll see you guys on the 16th.

I will not be joining you guys for the rest of this month. I will be constantly out of town until May for family events. See you guys till then.

Hello guys, it was great meeting you all this past weekend.  Thank you Julie for the encouragement and staying with me through the run. I will see you guys tomorrow. Hopefully I will be able to run a bit longer.

Eat well the day before, but NOT over eat. I like to bring road treats: peanut butter crackers, pretzels with peanut butter, as well as gels & gu. For myself, if I feel hungry during a long run, I waited too long to re-fuel. About every 45 minutes to an hour, take another gu and water.

Newcomers are welcome, just be careful to not go too far and get hurt.

they would just cut short to whatever they feel comfortable with.  that is the beauty of the course.  you are never that far from heading home!!

Thank you. ALL advice is welcome!
I thought that i posted a comment about how newcomers join in the middle of the year but i don't see it: I have two friends eager to run with group but have not been running more than 5. How does that work?

i will add one thing.  make sure you eat well the day before,  the morning of, and at about the 10 mile point.  you dont want to run out of gas during the last part of the race.

thanks, Julie, for that great advice from your considerable experience. I will slow it down for the first 13 or so, so i may fall back from the group this weekend. but will then see how i feel at mile 13 or so. see you sunday!
